Jack & Coke vs. Rum & Coke: Who Wins?
Jack & Coke vs. Rum & Coke: Who Wins?
I pose this question: do you drink rum and Coke or Jack and Coke? One offers a smoother highball (rum) that is sweet, well balanced and flavorful. The other offers a sweeter, thicker texture that warms you up (Jack and Coke) and goes down smooth. Heck they both taste great together. But, forever and a day I have heard people go one way or the other. That being: I only like Jack and Coke, or I only like Rum and Coke. So which is your favorite? Even if you don’t like either…if you had to pick, which one would it be?
To Drink Jack or Rum and Coke?
I personally favor the rum and Coke combination even though I like the taste of the Jack and Coke mixed better together. Two reasons here. Firstly, whiskey makes me a mean old angry person, whereas rum makes me happy. Secondly, whiskey tends to give me headaches, mean old headaches. Needless to say, I am a rum and Coke kind of guy!

Cool Folk Song About Jack and Coke
This drink has become so timeless that people are actually using it as mental fodder to write folklore songs about its concoctions and the many crazy memories that drinking too many of these highballs can bring! Paramount that this notion is the song (imbedded in the video below) “Jack 'N Coke” (Original) by Brett Randell—an obvious college student decides to share his poetic insight on this popular beverage. Of course, it also touches on life, love, sharing, and wooing over a drink a bar after a long day…week…month…year or whatever. Enjoy! And drink up buddy!
