Top Three Xbox 360 Games of 2008
So many games, so little time to burn out your thumbs and acquire a case of RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) playing them. But if you are like me, and your wrists are more worn out than a ninety year old carpenter, then you already know that there are ample amounts of great games that were released for the Xbox 360 during 2008. Of course, it would be far too lengthy for me to ever truly list them and yap about all of them for you in this blog. So I have been forced to boil it down to what I believe are the top three Xbox 360 games of 2008.
Top Three Xbox 360 Games of 2008
Grand Theft Auto IV: This game truly takes the wholly cake and the icing too for the best damn game ever to be created. You play a cunning and illegal Russian immigrant who must forge his way through the unforgiving alleyways of New York City, dubbed Liberty City for this game. You can pretty much do everything. From stealing cars, boats and helicopters and driving through crowds of people in Times Square, (dubbed Liberty Square in GTA IV), to sniping mobsters and killing cops. The game lives true to its GTA violent tradition, pissing parents off around the country and making one hell of gripping game with an intense plot, plenty to do, awesome controls and truly next generation graphic capabilities. One can only wonder what they will do for the next installment of GTA.
Fallout 3: While this game has its fair share of noticeable glitches and weird frame rate issues and hanging, when it does work, it’s the best freaking RPG free-world shooter that you will ever wrap your thumbs around people! Set in a post nuclear war Washington D.C. – you must try and survive the odds, monsters, thieves, and the radioactive elements to try and bring life back to the lands after major nuclear fallout has devastated the known world and destroyed most of humanity. Perhaps the most violent game ever created, you can hack off limbs, bust open heads and explode people into tiny little bits. And it offers amazing weapon sets and a Karma system that allows for you to make good and evil decisions to shape your character.
NCAA 2009: The brainchild of EA Sports rears its college football having head once more, this time with a new graphics engine that screams awesome, especially on a high definition television set. All new play books, all 118 college teams, the BCS system and the highs and lows of the collegian monopoly that is college football take to the fore in this brilliant game, which also happens to be one of the best selling games of 2008 for the Xbox 360. The players look and feel real. The plays are even better. The teams are identical to their real life counterparts and the in-game play is second-to-none, even over the professional football adversary created by the same company, Madden 2009, which in my book takes a solid second place next to its NCAA cousin.
