Beating the summer heat

When it’s 98 degrees in May, you know you’re going to have a long summer.

Today I missed the monthly Science Club I usually host in our homeschool group because I was ill, and though I wish I could have seen the experiments that my husband and another mother led, I sure am glad that I missed out on the heat. Even though they were able to use the shade of trees and a barn to help keep them a bit cool, it was a whopping 98 degrees already—and it’s only going to get hotter.

To keep our children (and ourselves!) cool while playing this summer, it’s integral to make sure we have a constant access to water. We like to keep several water bottles in the fridge at all times for easy access, and even a couple in the freezer for especially hot days. That said, here are a few other ways to stay cool when it’s hot outside.
