Ode’ to Keg Parties of my Past!
Ode’ to Keg Parties of my Past!
Ode’ to the lovely keg parties of a childhood past. Those sordid events where somebody always vomited on your carpeting and drinking games were taking place all over the house. A party where the police may or may not shut it down and underground teenagers partying were the mainstay. A staple of collegians and fraternities the world afar. Yes indeed, keg parties have a fond memory in my noggin!
How to Throw a Keg Party
To throw a keg party you need several things. Something to eat, a keg of cold beer, tap and bucket of ice, plastic cups (typically red, 16 oz cups) and plenty of friends who like to drink ice cold beer. Acquire all of these items at the grocery store (most sell kegs now) and then invite your friends. Make sure to check IDs if you don’t want to get in trouble, and always drink responsibly.
My Best Keg Party Ever!
Thinking back, the best keg party I ever threw was for my younger brothers 21st birthday, and the all too infamous ‘hour of power.’ I bought three different kegs; Bud Light, Heineken and 8th Street Ale. I also made a keg of fresh jungle juice. I hired DJ ‘Inferio,’ and had him spinning records. When my brother turned of age, a stripper came out and danced for his birthday. I had over 150 people, security and no cops that bugged us. It was a night to remember for the ages, one that can never be created again!
Why Keg Parties Rocked!
Um, let’s see here. Cheap beer, usually a few bucks for a never ending cup, lots of people, typically your best friends, and nice girls to meet. But drinking all night with your best buddies for no reason other than to drink…priceless!
OFFICIAL VIDEO] John Brown - "Keg Party"
A popular Youtube.com star and internationally known and recognized recording artist, John Brown, divulges his love for the always omnipresent ‘Keg Parties’ of our ambivalent youth. The video opens with him riding around on a BMX style bicycle and passing out flyers for his forthcoming keg party. Do you recall doing this, or attending a keg party during your adolescent years that were advertised via the medium of cheesy, paper fliers? I do, and watching this video this brings back a flurry of nostalgic memories of youthful times past! And of course, the song is appropriately labeled as, “Keg Party.”
