A disappointing last run in Myanmar

Too many cars, people and dead ends

I knew from the beginning this wasn’t going to be a great run. Regardless, I decided to start my run from the Sedona Hotel in Yangon. The hotel is directly across from Inya Lake, which looks as if it is encircled by a nice loop that one can follow. From the hotel I took a left, and surprisingly felt good. The path around the lake is very narrow, so a good portion of the beginning of my run was figuring out the best way to navigate the traffic.

I found out that running on the grass, bypassing making out teenage couples, seemed to be the best. It was a thin strip of grass between the path and the lake, but it allowed for stop-free running. I continued to book it around the lake, and as the path’s paved portion ended, changing into dirt, I saw Burmese children giggling and following me, retreating as a turned around to say hello.
