Hello All - this discussion you are having is quite interesting. I am a born-again believer and would like to add my two-cents on the Prayer and Worship issue. I believe Prayer is communicating with God directly. It is a worshipful act because it requires faith that God is listening and interested in you. I like what Phillipians 4:6&7 says, here we are asked to let our requests be made known to God. and in 1 Tim 2:5 Paul instructs Timothy in prayer with "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ..." Also in John 14:6 "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." and in verses 13 & 14 He says, "And whatever you ask, in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." The whole point of our existence should be to honor the Son and glorify the Father. Praying TO others is not Biblical nor would it seem productive since Jesus is always available and interested. Thats my take.
