If you had to pick the First Lady based on style, who would you pick?
The role of First Lady is an important one. The First Lady is the representation of the president's personal life, she is also a representative of the country's feminine identity. In the beginning First Ladies were but a footnote in their powerful husbands biographies, but in recent times the first ladies have proven to be an important component of the president's public image. And because women must be judged on their outer appearance before anything else, the fashion styles of these famous wives is given a great deal of stock. You can judge a book by it's cover is the attitude. So how do Michelle Obama and Cindy McCain measure up to their predecessors?
Michelle Obama has the stamp of a future Jackie O written all over her everything. She is a classically beautiful woman who has a keen sense of style. This woman exudes confidence with her classy time-less style. She is not flashy or trendy, or ostentatious,and she's not dowdy or stiff. This woman knows she's beautiful but doesn't throw it in your face. Classic and intelligent, even if Obama is not elected into office, which we doubt, Michelle has made her stamp as a modern, beautiful woman who's intelligence is reflected in her style.
Cindy McCain, or as I like to call her, Geriatric Ice Princess, is a train wreck! This woman embodies everything wrong with American fashion and beauty standards. She's crusty and stiff, and embodies the image of Rich Bitch. This woman's nose is so high up in the air you'd think she was nothing but nostrils. Oh if only. This lady frightens me a little bit. My friend put it best when he compared Cindy McCain to the Femme-bots in the first Austin Power's movie. You know, the statuesque, lingerie-wearing robots with guns for boobs. Cindy McCain's style screams Stepford Wife in the White House, a role that Nancy Reagan perfected. Cindy McCain's style is out of touch with the real American woman, or any woman for that matter.

And being a Sagittarius I've always been drawn to writing and current events. But does any of this have anything to do with astrology?
I think that people will always be drawn to astrology because it offers a glimpse of people's inner workings that keeps us connected to something outside of ourselves. I think it's also fun stuff that sheds light on this thing we call life. Astrology can't tell you how to live your life or what decisions to make when it comes to careers, but you might be surprised how some things just fit. For whatever reason. I say keep up the studies and the surveys.

'Caribou Barbie' offensive to Barbie
This is not cool. All week, whenever I try to search for news about Barbie all I get is news about that horrible cow Sarah Palin. I'm sure that whoever it was that coined the phrase thinks they are very clever and cute, but I say not quite. 'Caribou Barbie" is offensive to Barbie. Hasn't she endured enough abuse and criticism from everybody from feminists to misogynists? Barbie may not be perfect in many ways, but one thing she is not is SCARY. That's just a start.
