Noisy waters not good for whales
We all know that the oceans are getting more and more polluted by industrial waste and other human pollutants, and that this is contributing to the dessimation of many marine species, but did you know that our waters are also polluted with noise?
The International Fund for Animal Welfare says that underwater noise from ships, oil drilling, naval sonar, and other industrial-related noise is affecting the lives of whales. According to IFAW, the noise levels in the water are disruptive to the whales when feeding and mating. In some regions, the noise is deafening.
Scientists are working with governments to try to reduce the speeds of ships in order to elliminate some of the noise in the waters.
Maybe that's what whales are trying to communicate to us. Recently, whales have been singing their whale songs near the New York City harbour, much to the excitement of scientists. Check out this story.
My kitchen is flooded
Help! My sink is overflowing, and it wasn't my fault! I woke up this morning and my kitchen was flooded To make matters worse the landlord is out of town and the manager is nowhere to be found. I also don't have any money for a plumber! What am I supposed to do? What are my rights in this case, does anyone know? Has anyone else had an experience like this?

Illegal turtles in Oregon

Red-eared slider turtles are illegal in the state, but that didn't stop them from being sold in the black market. Many pet turtle owners don't realize the commitment it takes to own one of these animals, so when they no longer care to own them some owners think it's fine to just release them. Honda Accord Brakes
Hello,
I have a 99 Accord EX-V6 SE with 30K miles on it. I needed to replace the front pads since I had only 25% left on em. After replacing the pads, I had a nasty squealing problem at the front right side. After taking the car back to the repair shop they also said my rear's were due...so I replaced the rear pads as well. I can't seem to get rid of this totally annoying squeal. Has anyone had any success with aftermarket pads on the Accord? Raybestos is the brand. I have spoken with other shops and they tell me to get OEM pads from Honda. Would that really make a difference?

I placed an order from buymeds.com on Monday, as far as I can tell it hasn;t shipped yet but my credit card has been billed. I paid for the overnight shipping and My fed-ex already came for the day and I still don't have my prescription. Someone called yesterday and said it had been approved and would ship but I don't have it and have received no response from customer service. Sounds like a scam to me.
