What happened to clarity in arguments. It seems that anti-LDS adherents use very lacking arguments (by arguments I mean your points or your presentation of your points). Such people write about Joseph Smith being this or that (generally speaking trying to defame the character of the man). There are several logical weaknesses in arguments framed this way. A logical weakness displays ignorance (meaning lack of understanding) in the subject. I am not going to say I am an expert on a particular subject or not but I would like more researched arguments. If you are going to use defamation as your logical approach you must tie it to the invalidation of LDS beleivers arguments. Additionally, the use of defamation based on someone's written work in your argument has an inherent weakness in that we don't always know the character of the writer or the intent of the writer. Believe it or not writers are often swayed by public opinion, personal bias, personal ambitions etc. Take for example the trial of Christ. He was presented to Pilate and Herod as liar, defiler, and vagrant. We, Christian followers would disagree yet non-followers could and do have their written sources. The bottom line (as I generally refer to it) is this: Joseph Smith either saw God and Christ and that he under the direction of the Christ restored His (Christ's) Church on the earth again, or, Joseph Smith did not see God and Christ and the following is a great lie. Let me ask this. Suppose Joseph Smith lied, what are the fruits of such lies? Comparitively, what are the fruits of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? Who in the LDS church substantially benefits from its (the Church's) success? When I pay my tithing who receives it? When the Prophet (currently Gordon B. Hinckley) make statements and ask people to make their lives and others lives good by doing the works of Christ and conclude such statements with "in the name of Jesus Christ" who really is the benefactor?
