The Obama girls

Monday, November 17th 11:54pm Dear Diary, What a whirlwind! Itâ??s been almost two weeks since Iâ??ve last written in my diary. Since election night, actually. And what a night! Barack made an amazing acceptance speech, and I was truly proud to be his wife. And good for him for getting going on his cabinet. I donâ??t want a lazy president for a husband. Iâ??m still very troubled about all the anti-gay legislation that was passed, and Iâ??m hoping that thereâ??s some way to overturn that. It concerns me to think that while our country has come so far as to elect a black president, that we still canâ??t allow everyone to have same rights. Perhaps we will finally win on this issue when Sasha and Malia are my age. Whew, I can’t imagine my girls in their forties! I can’t even picture them as teenagers! I worry that growing up in the White House will somehow damage their good upbringing. But I can’t imagine that the celebrity status would go to their heads. At least, I hope it won’t… I also just want them to be able to have normal lives as kids, but that really won’t be possible if they’re in the White House and followed around by Secret Service all the time, as I expect they will. I now fear for their safety more than ever. But I suppose that would be true for all mothers. It certainly has been nice to spend more time with them now that the campaign season is over. I know they appreciate it, particularly after spending the last few months with their grandmother. Though life will never be the same for them, especially when we move into the White House. I’m looking forward to that day! Yours always, Michelle Originally posted in The Secret Diary of Michelle Obama

Biden is Back

Monday, November 17th 10:50pm Dear Diary, It has been a while since I last wrote celebrating our victory. And what a win! After the last two presidential elections, it was nice to finally celebrate. And, I won in Delaware! No surprise there, but it’s always nice to know the people are still with me and want the seat to stay Democratic. Sadly, I didn’t get to make any acceptance speeches on election night. Heard Sarah Palin was really bummed about not getting to make a concession speech to her fans too. You could see how upset she was when John McCain was speaking in Arizona that night. Republicans were probably just trying to get her off the national stage as soon as possible to avoid any more embarrassment. So at least I wasn’t the only one denied of more press coverage. It’s been nice to have a break right now though… Poor Barack had to jump right in and start planning his cabinet. I would feel sorry for him, except I’m fairly convinced that he's doing it to get more media attention. Will talk with him tomorrow about getting more publicity for the V.P. The Veep… Man it feels good to say that. Haven’t done too much since becoming the Veep-elect, although Barack finally let me call some leaders abroad. Honestly, that’s my job anyway… I’M the one with all the foreign policy experience, right? Guess he’s trying to bring in some more popularity, but puh-lease, he’s aleady won the election. Let’s get the public behind the Veep too. Until next time, Joe the Veep

Possible offspring

my cat Buddy was spotted 1/2 a mile away less than a year ago. He was brought back safe and sound. we moved to a block away from where he was found and today we spotted a cat that looks like his brother who ran away. the cat was a female and looked kind of young. Buddy is the exact opposite coloring but his mom and his brother were pretty close colorwise. Is it possible that Buddy's offspring could look exactly like his brother??

Miley Cyrus, Not Dead

Oh well.  Ten year-olds all across the country let out a sigh of relief when they heard that their beloved Hannah Montana is, after all, still alive. Over the weekend, a hacker hacked into Miley's youtube account and posted that the teen star had died in a car accident caused by a drunk driver.  There were all kinds of rumors, from decapitations a la Jayne Mansfield, to her body being flung through a wind shield across the road and subsequently getting ran over by a semi. But, she emerged in an interview(plugging her new cd) later in the week, unaware that she was supposed to be dead. Her co-stars at the Disney studio, were sorely disappointed by the news.

Celebrity Birthdays For Today

Happy Birthday to RuPaul who turns 48 today! The famous drag queen was born November 17, 1960, in San Diego,CA. That makes him a Scorpio Sun, Scorpio Moon and Gemini Ascendant.  Gemini Ascendant is perfect for the diva with two very distinct personalities. Daisy Fuentes, the hot Cuban super model, and Martin Scorsese, the Academy Award winning director, are also celebrating birthdays.  Proud and ferocious, somewhat vain...Sounds about right on.

This Could Finally Be the End of the Bratz...Forever!

Mattel wants to put an end to the production of Bratz dolls, made by MGA Entertainment, forever. They are also seeking to confiscate all Bratz dolls, and banning them, forever. The two toy companies will get a chance to duke it out in court next week. This comes after MGA has been ordered to pay Mattel $100 million for a copyright infringement lawsuit. Sounds like Mattel is afraid of a little competition. But Barbie has no fear! The puffy-lipped, doe-eyed, big-headed doll is no competition for die-hard doll lovers, and Barbie will continue to RULE! History has proven that their have always been immitators, copy-cats, and wanna-bes, but Barbie has stood the test of time. Barbie will be celebrating 50 years in '09, take that Bratz!
