People in power screw up

Sometimes it’s a lot of fun when people in power screw up. The Bush II years provided comic fodder for many years to come, after all, despite the devastation, general chaos and catastrophe his presence in the Oval Office caused. Speaking of that… sometimes when people in power mess up, it reflects badly on everyone—and can even mess up lives as a results. The following are examples of just these occurrences…

FDA Silences Americans

In a spiteful enforcement  of a narrowly defined signature rule that they pretty much made up on the spot, the FDA recently erased a million American signatures permanently from a petition demanding that they label foods that have been genetically modified—a practice that Americans have been demanding since at least 2001 when I joined “The Campaign” to get these foods labeled. Essentially, the jerks just don’t want to let us know which foods we eat are modified—which, many of us think, are often more than not.

Priest Presents Fun Gay Slideshow to His Followers

This one is just plain fun, except for any kids that might have seen something inappropriate (AKA nudity/sex).  This priest actually loaded and played a slideshow of gay porn in front of his congregation. Of course, he maintains that he has no idea how it ended up there—yet another act of denial from a person in power, this time a very ironic gesture from a traditional shaming, anti-gay role.

Biggest Christian TV Network Charged with Fraud and Such

Trinity Broadcasting Network, known for its open shaming of anyone who is a non-Christian, non-cisgender white male, its mega poufy hairdos, and its general annoyingness, can now be known for something else: fraud and embezzlement. Given how lavishly the family owning the network lives and their generally holier-than-thou attitude, is anyone really surprised?

Goldman Sachs: America’s New Pimp of Underage Girls

Allegations against Goldman Sachs promoting sex trafficking online have now been not only proven, but copped to by the company, known best for its corruption, huge role in market control and economic collapse, and evil control of the world alongside Lord Skeletor. All joking aside, Sachs is now completely damned in my book. They own at least 16% of a human trafficking website that deals out underage girls and other forced prostitutes for sexual slavery. Is there no low this company is willing to hit? I think they’ve given us ample evidence over the past couple of years to lock up the entire company.

Pharmacists Continue to Deny Teens Prescriptions

In other misogynistic news, studies are showing that pharmacies are denying or attempting to deter teens from filling their Plan B prescriptions. Whether or not these so-called agents of health are going to implant any possible embryos into their own bodies, or to raise any fetuses if conceived and delivered for life, is unknown. And frickin’ unlikely.
