The city of carnivals celebrates its own tradition of Mardi Gras
The country of Brazil is host to one of the most well-known and extravagant carnivals in the entire world. It is the Brazilian equivalent of Mardi Gras known as the Rio de Janeiro Carnaval and takes place in, where else, Rio de Janeiro. It begins the Saturday before Ash Wednesday and continues until Fat Tuesday. These four days feature some of the craziest parties, costumes and parades that one could ever hope to experience. It’s hard to find another place in the world that celebrates this holiday with more fervor than Brazil.
