The temperatures are rising and vacation is just around the corner. Camping is one of our favorite choices. It allows the kids to experience the natural world first hand and provides a budget-friendly means to travel. I'm often given incredulous looks when I mention our camping vacations. Many people think these are stressful with young kids.
We tent camp, but if you want more of the comforts of home, consider renting an RV. These come with indoor plumbing, kitchens, beds and sometimes even satellite television. Another option is a cabin rental. You can rent cabins, tepees and even yurts at many state parks around the country. Rentals are usually inexpensive, a third of the cost of a hotel room. Cabin accommodations vary, but most feature bathrooms and cooking facilities.
