Anyone who pays attention to the comic book world knows about the recent announcements that Marvel and DC have been making about the presence of gay characters within their respective super-hero universes. Marvel in particular is gaining some fame for having the first same-sex comic character wedding in their upcoming Astonishing X-Men #51. In order to celebrate the sexual revolution in comic books, a New York City comic book store, Midtown Comics, offered a chance for same-sex geek couples to win a free marriage ceremony in their shop. The eventual winners were Scott Everhart and Jason Welker, and they tied the knot just a few days ago, on June 20 when the milestone issue of X-Men was released.
