Last night I had a Dortmunder Gold from Great Lakes Brewery on a recommendation of a friend after spending all day in the garage working on the car. I’ve got to say, I’m a pretty big fan. This beer has a really great beer taste while remaining super smooth with just a touch of bitterness.
Dortmunder Gold is named after the town of Dortmund in Germany where this style of beer originated. Great Lakes Brewery has consistently won gold medals at the American Beer Festival for this brew. It has remained true to its Bavarian roots by only using the basics that were spelled out in the Bavarian purity law of 1516; barley, yeast, hops and water. No preservatives, flavoring or other artificial ingredients in this bottle, which (in my opinion) makes it an awesome beer.
