John Derbyshire is a now-former contributor to The National Review and a self-admitted racist. He was recently released from the Review when he published a freelance piece called, The Talk: Nonblack Version. The article outlined a 15+ point list of talking points and advice he passed on to his teenaged children; advice that was so flagrantly and unashamedly racist as to be, at times, uncomfortable to read. Nonetheless, Derbyshire, who was a popular writer and personality in The National Review evidently felt confident enough in his position to publish the piece in a low-brow fluffy publication called Taki Magazine. The magazine’s own quality is illustrated by the fact that they have not yet pulled Derbyshire’s article, no doubt enjoying the increase web traffic around the scandal.
