China is not a country that is traditionally known for being copyright friendly. It has long been considered the home of the knock-offs and the Chinese government usually does little to curb the tide of these cheap imitations. The laws regarding intellectual property are somewhat ambiguous and Chinese courts are known for being quick to settle in their home team’s favor when it comes to lawsuits going in the other direction. This has ended in some recent battles between Apple, who is trying to seize a market share in the country, and several companies that keep filing suits and insisting that Apple is infringing on their copyrights.
