After so much war and strife, 16 months of revolt and the countless loss of innocent lives, the Syrian story may finally be coming to an end. The deciding catalyst was the bombing of a Syrian command meeting. The bombing, taking place inside what is one of the most heavily guarded buildings in all of Damascus, reportedly caused the deaths of the government’s defense minister, President Assad’s top security advisor and his brother-in-law. Others may have died in the explosion, but have not been revealed by Assad’s regime.
