Pakistan recently saw an exercise of their controversial (at least internationally) blasphemy laws when a 14-year-old Christian girl was placed in prison because of an apparent affront to the religion. She was accused of burning religious texts and thus is in danger of being incarcerated for life. In an unprecedented show of support, many Islamic leaders, including those from extremist groups, have come together to condemn the imprisonment of the girl and voice concerns about the blasphemy laws.
