Seville’s La Feria de Abril

A week of fun, partying and drinking in a carnival-like atmosphere

Every April in the city of Seville, Spain celebrates La Feria de Abril.  As the story goes, the original version of this festival was a cattle fair back in the 1840s.  That fair grew in size and took on a different flavor over the years, becoming less about cattle and more about just having an excuse to party.  In 1950 the cattle part of it went away altogether and the new modern incarnation took hold.  It still continues to grow, pushing it to the point where the city has had to relocate the event to a larger space several times over the years.
