Three days of festivities that ends with a costumed ball of epic proportions
Each year in early March, the city of Ostend, Belgium celebrates a three-day festival that brings together drinking, parades and some of the most brilliant costumes that you’ll see anywhere. The festival is known as the Dead Rat’s Ball, though the ball is but one part of the event, albeit the most famous. Activities begin on the first Friday in March and continue through the weekend, each day bringing its own set of entertainments.
