See the famous sights from the comfort of your own couch.
As a follow up to last week’s grouping of videos that showed the world in all its natural glory, I decided this week I would narrow the subject down a bit. YouTube provides the perfect way for people who might be otherwise engaged (or just plain lazy) to take a look at the many wonderful societies and civilizations of the world. People travel all the time and are all too willing to take the videos they make while on their journeys and put them up for others to see.
Not all of these are simply people traveling, of course. There are plenty of professionally made videos that serve other, more commercial purposes. That doesn’t make them any less spectacular, however. In fact, sometimes these are the videos that give the best look at a city because of their higher production values and ability to travel exactly where they know the best sights are.
I’ve chosen three (as always) examples that demonstrate three different kinds of travel videos that one can expect to find on YouTube. There are plenty more, and no doubt ones done much better than these, but I think these are a good representation of the power that video possesses when it comes to showing anyone with a computer the wonderful sights of the world.
