Snacks for New Years Eve

The holidays are always full of sugary foods like chocolates, candy canes, various hard candies, cookies, pie and cakes. While not all of you have them completely gone out of the house yet, there are some alternatives that you can use with the kids at home when staying in for New Years Eve. With the kids staying up well past their bedtimes adding a sugar high to being over tired can make way for a terrible tantrum or breakdown that you don't need to deal with.

To curb their hunger through the night they are going to want to have some snacks along the way. An obvious fix for this is popcorn. Kids love popcorn. If you have time and at least one child old enough for the project, grab a needle and thread. Pop a couple bags of popcorn and use the needle to thread the kernels together. Tie them off at the end to make popcorn necklaces for everyone to wear. You might have some popcorn to sweep up later but the kids will have a lot of fun being able to wear their snacks.

Fruit and veggie trays are good to have out. It doesn't matter if everyone claims they don't like them, but you will always see people snacking on them.
