ET Sequel: "ET-X" (Extended Trailer)

Do not trust the cute ones.

I remember E.T. as a kid. Everyone was all over that movie, with its pimping out of these tiny Reese’s Pieces, this adorable alien that just wanted to phone home, a gaggle of kids wanting to get him there and the adults around him that just didn’t get it, and treating said adorable alien as a threat (inhumanely at that). You got sad at the treatment of said alien by the uncaring government and cheered when the kids – with the power of friendship – were able to save the plucky alien and get him home.

As a kid you cheer. But just below the surface you wonder as an adult – was that cuddly alien just a sign that we humans are too warmongery for our own good, or did the government in the film have reason to quarantine him? Mind you, E.T. came out in the era of feel-good films where aliens weren’t trying to kill us, they were just trying to eat Reese's Pieces with us in our living rooms.

But this ‘sequel’ has it so that maybe we should had been more prudent in detaining the little bugger. Seems E.T. returns years later to warn a now grown-up Elliott that more of his kind are coming to earth – and they don’t want any candy. They want blood.
