The Future of School: Bubbles Don't Build Brilliance

Standardization is a piece of the puzzle, but the high demand for innovation from future jobs will not be looking for just "proficiency".

Twenty or thirty years ago, having information was a pretty big deal. People with lightning fast recall and a cerebral database of quotes and statistics highly valued individuals. That’s not to say that processing the information was also important, but most people that had the information on the tip of their tongue were the same people that knew how to digest it. Today is different. Today a ten-year old with a smart-phone has access to more information than even the most incredibly retentive minds. However, that ten year old will not have the analytical capabilities of that graduate student, and thanks to current trends in education, there’s no guarantee that high school graduates will either.
