Although I like off- Broadway plays, off-off Broadway plays and even the occassional spectacle that is a full Broadway musical, I am also somewhat obsessed with the idea of found art, intentional art that is done not for financial gain or even recognition but simply for the beauty or, if not beauty, for the sheer art of it.
Take this photo for example. When my girlfriend and I were living in Portland, a cat lived with us named Rosie. Rosie was not our cat, she belonged to the person who we rented the house from. But since the backyard tended to attract rodents and Rosie was cute, we asked if she could stay.
