The Big Dipper, the Little Dipper and the North Star

Notable constellations in the Northern Hemisphere

Last week I wrote about using Orion to find other constellations. In much the same way you can use the Big Dipper, one of the most noticeable structures in the night sky of the Northern Hemisphere. It is visible almost anytime it is dark, but will be more prominent at different times of night, such as during spring evenings or winter mornings.
