Joe the Prophet?

Dear Diary,

Up late catching up on news articles from past week—can’t be outdone in New York Times reading by Sarah Palin!—and came across article about Cindy McCain.  That poor womanDragged around by McSkeletor, forced to support losing campaign, cut off from supply of drugs, all those miscarriages…though, if being perfectly honest, some people do need to learn when to stop having children as new socialist health care policies will be stressed by plethora of children.  Anyway, don’t know how Jill Biden and Cindy did it—Michelle put her foot down after Sasha and said no more kids, with or without epidural.

Also stumbled across article covering Joeâ??s remarks at a Seattle fundraiser this past weekend:  â??Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. Weâ??re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America.  Remember I said it standing here if you donâ??t remember anything else I saidâ?¦ As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you itâ??s going to happen.â?

Apparently did not vet VP candidate thoroughly enough as was until now unaware of Joeâ??s talents for divination.  Regardless, seems a useful job skill to have.  Wonder if prophesying skills extend to economic crises, international disputes, and poll results.  Anyway, should have seen this coming: a prophet and the messiah always come at same time.

Still ahead in polls!

Hopefully yours, Barack Originally posted in The Secret Diary of Barack Obama

Coming Soon to a TV Near You: The Sarah Palin Show?

It recently occurred to us at rumorreport.com to wonder what exactly will become of la Palin after Nov. 4 in the event that she is not elected VP. Of course, to state the perfectly obvious, she still has plenty of time to serve in the Governor’s mansion. But we do wonder what other opportunities might await the woman of the hour - here are a few ideas that cross our minds (in order of increasing likeliness):

Sarah Palin permanently joins the cast of SNL

Not very likely. Not likely at all. Yes, SNL enjoyed it’s best ratings since Nancy Kerrigan - but at a terrible terrible price. Perhaps you didn’t notice, but it seems that the SNL writers put so much focus on the Palin skits that the rest of the show suffered awfully. In fact, the quality was so low that it reminded us much of the malaise that SNL was in during the early 90’s when Kerrigan showed up for her visit…… Beyond this, we will disagree with the vast majority of…well, everybody, and observe that Palin seemed irritated, annoyed, and generally uptight for much of her appearance. Her body language seemed hostile and resentful. I could have sworn I was watching my high school science teacher pissed off at her rowdy class this last Saturday Night. I think somehow that Palin’s comedy days are already over.

Presidential Run in 2012

Although many believe that Palin will be well positioned for a 2012 run, we at rumorreport.com could not disagree more. It seems that (rightly or wrongly) much of the blame for a failed 2008 McCain bid will fall squarely on Palin. Would you like a preview? Click here to read what Republican Ken Adelman recently said about McCain's choice of Sarah Palin (scroll to 2nd item). Beyond this, a 2008 loss would most likely cause the Republican party to undertake some serious soul searching with an ultimate goal of striking out on a new path. We simply don’t see Palin being re-invited to this party.

Senator Palin, Governor Palin, or Citizen Palin?

Debate amongst yourselves: Can Palin return to Alaska and seize a second term as governor? She began this race as one of the most locally popular governors in the county but she has since been dealt the blow of a major investigation and with being the great polarizer on the campaign trail (thanks John!) Indeed, Palin may find that any bi-partisan support she enjoyed a mere 6 months may have blown away like so many snowflakes. On the other hand, Palin will probably return to Alaska having learned every trick in the book. But don't take our word for it - click here to read what Alaska is saying (be sure to check out the +430 comments on this article!) Yet another possibility is that Palin will set her sites on the senate seat opening in 2010. This is a strong possibility, particularly if Palin would like to position herself for a presidential run in 2012. We wonder however if perhaps Sarah Palin won't take an early retirement from politics to focus on other opportunities - read on.......

Time’s Person of the Year

Stranger things have happened and stranger choices have been made for this ‘distinction’. Although the obvious choice in ‘08 may seem to be a triumphant Barack Obama, the fact of the matter is that Palin may be one of the most instantly popular news sensations in recent history - certainly in the arena of politics. Also, let us not forget that while we could always see Obama win this title in future years, Sarah Palin’s time in the sun may fade much faster. Photo by Comandante Agi

Sarah Palin Writes a Book.

Or Many Books. See articles here and here. Indeed, others are already writing tongue in cheek pieces for her, such as The Secret Diary of Sarah Palin. How could she NOT sign a book deal? Photo by by Poldavo (Alex)

The Sarah Palin Show

Our best guess and strong gut feeling is that Sarah Palin will “go directly to TV”. This almost seems inevitable at this point. Could anyone on the planet possibly garner higher ratings as a conservative commentator? We doubt it. Stay tuned, we practically guarantee that there will be a TV show/Book deal with Fox News announced in the near future. The only question in our minds: will Tina Fey be invited to the show?

Questions for the air force

I was owndering because I am now confused. When you sign up for the airforce and you sign up for 4 years or six years, Does that mean you only have to be apart of the airforce for four or six years and have the choice to sign up again after those years are up to the twenty years to retirement ? Meaning I sign up for four years, serve my four years, then I can leave and do whatever.

Holiday song

Looking for the title or artist of a song played some 10-15 years ago around the holidays. Radio stations around Milwaukee played this song about a mother and child riding on a train on like on Christmas Eve or something. Song was more of a naration by who I thought played JR's brother on Dallas (Steve Kanaly). Did anyone else hear this song at one point?

The Art of Peace

I've always believed that art serves as another form of communication, like any other language.  A work of art can produce feelings of anger or pain, or feelings of joy and peace, and anything in between.  Art is a language that speaks directly to the soul.  And so much can be expressed through visual images, as with music and words.  Just like Pablo Picasso's Guernica is a reminder of the horrors of war, art for the promotion of peace can be just as moving, and even healing.  Which is what this world needs right now. I was inspired by these two bloggers recently, when I was pondering the question of how to begin to get people inspired to be peace-conscious.  A Peace of... is a really cool blog where artists can contribute images of their work for an on-going on-line exhibit of art inspired for peace.  So far, the work I've seen, which also includes some poetry, is very thought-provoking and beautiful.  This is worth checking out. Another blog I found is called the Hill Billy Artist, this artist is creating a work of art a day centered around the topic of peace.  The art is whimsical and fun, and each piece has accompanying commentary from the artist.  I especially love the "peace hero" dolls of Gandhi and Jesus. It's amazing to see people from all over, finding the inspiration and drive to remind us of the importance of peace.  And it's refreshing to see artwork that goes beyond the superficial, and straight to the depths of the soul of the world.

Shopping For Your Cat

I was searching the other day for some information about the latest and greatest in litter box technology when I came upon a site named Cat Talk ( http://www.cattalk.com ). Before I knew it, I not only had tons of advice about this particular product, but I had found myself reading for hours all sorts of interesting articles, especially about cat related problems! Highly recommended to those that love to shop for their cat(s).
